Enjoy a relaxing trip on the river and experience the beautiful nature from the waterside with family, friends, or your partner. With a pedal boat from Odense Aafart, you set the pace and have a couple of enjoyable hours on the water.

New! You can now book your pedal boat online, ensuring availability at your desired time – easily and conveniently.

Pedal boats can be rented during ticket office opening hours, and your trip must start no later than one hour before closing.

You can rent the pedal boats from our ticket office at Filosofgangen 30B, or you can book them in advance for your desired date and time.

Practical info

  • To rent a pedal boat, you must present a valid ID (driver's license or passport - if you are under 18, health insurance is ok) at the kiosk when you pay for the first hour of rental. It is a requirement for the rental that valid identification is presented.
  • There can be a maximum of four adults and one small child (max 3 years) (or max 300 kg) in a water bike. If there are more than 4 people (or more than 300 kg), you must rent a second water bike. Both requirements must be met. You cannot sail with 5 people even if you weigh less than 300 kg.
  • If you sail longer than 1 hour, you pay for the extra time when you pick up your ID at the kiosk after the trip. You are charged per 15 minutes or part thereof.
    For online bookings, where you book and pay in advance for your chosen duration, the pedal boat must be returned on time. If the pedal boat is not returned on time, a double rental fee will be charged for each started quarter-hour. to ensure that the next renter can depart on time.
  • It's a good idea to do the toilet visits and buy coffee before you rent the pedal boats, as your time starts as soon as you have paid.
  • We have no life jackets

Rules and regulations

  • All sailing is at your own risk.
  • Pay attention to where you are sailing, as you are responsible for freeing yourself if you get stuck in shallow water, low-hanging branches, or other obstacles.
  • If there is one or more persons under the age of 13 in the boat, there must be at least one person over the age of 18 in the boat as well.
  • Sailing must be done considerately, and you must , and you must always give way to the tour boats., as they cannot leave the navigation channel.
  • The water bikes must be returned to the same place where they were picked up (Filosofgangen 30B).
  • Vi opbevarer ikke personlige ejendele – disse skal medbringes på vandcyklen.

How does it work?

How old do you have to be?

Can I bring dogs?

Yes, if you think it will be safe to ride a Water bike.

How long can I ride a Water bike?

There is a 10% student discount on pedal boat rentals.

Can I bring my own drinks and food and enjoy them while travelling on a Water bike?

Yes, you can do that. Make sure to take your rubbish with you before you leave the Water bike.

Can I smoke on the Water bike?

Yes you can, as long as you don't throw cigarette butts in the river or in the Water bike.

Can we bring speakers on board?

Speakers are not allowed in the Water bikes, as music is not allowed on board. If you have brought a speaker, it must be stored in the kiosk while you are sailing.

Can we store the pram/stroller while sailing?

Unfortunately, we are unable to store prams or pushchairs while you are sailing.

Can we store luggage while travelling by Water bike?

Unfortunately, we are unable to store bags or other luggage while travelling by Water bike. These must be brought on board.

Can we borrow life jackets?

Water bikes are exempt from the use of life jackets, so if you need life jackets, you must bring them yourself.

Where can you park your car?

There is a car park directly opposite Aafarten, See a map of the area here

Take the free Citybus, which stops almost at the door. Get off at Søndergade/Vestergade or Holsdore. The bus runs approximately every 10 minutes: Monday-Friday 9-16.30 and Saturday 11-15.30.
During festivals and major events, for example in August and September, alternative routes may be available, so keep an eye on the timetable here
